Privacy Policy

1 What we collect ما نجمعه

For drivers — we collect GPS location data while a trip is active. Location is recorded automatically when a driver starts a trip in the Wasalni Driver app and stops the moment they end it. No background location is collected outside of active trips.

For parents — we collect the email address and phone number used to create an account, the names and grade levels of children linked to an account, and device tokens used to send push notifications.

For schools — we collect the school name, contact information, fleet details (bus identifiers, assigned routes), and administrator account credentials.

Usage data — we collect standard app analytics such as feature usage, crash reports, and session duration. This data is aggregated and never linked to individual children.

2 How we use your data كيف نستخدم البيانات

We use collected data exclusively to:

• Show parents the real-time location of their child's bus and provide accurate arrival estimates
• Send push notifications about trip status (bus started, arriving soon, arrived)
• Relay parent "notify driver" messages to the assigned driver
• Allow school administrators to monitor fleet status and manage routes
• Improve app reliability, performance, and feature quality

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the school bus tracking service.

3 Data sharing مشاركة البيانات

We share data only as necessary to deliver the service:

• The school — your school can view fleet GPS positions, trip logs, and the driver accounts they manage. Schools cannot access parent account information beyond what they provided during enrollment.
• Authorized parents — parents linked to a child can see the real-time position of that child's assigned bus only. They cannot see other buses or other families' data.
• Drivers — drivers see only their own assigned route and parent notifications for students on their bus.
• Infrastructure providers — we use cloud hosting (servers located in the EU) to store and process data. These providers are contractually bound to process data only on our instructions and not to sell or disclose it.

4 Data retention مدة الاحتفاظ بالبيانات

We apply the following retention schedule:

• Live GPS location pings — retained for 90 days from the date of each trip, then permanently deleted. This window allows parents to review recent trip history and schools to resolve disputes.
• Trip summaries (start time, end time, route, stops reached) — retained for the duration of the active school year, then deleted at year-end or upon account termination, whichever comes first.
• Account data (email, name, phone) — retained for as long as the account is active. Deleting your account removes this data within 30 days.
• Crash and performance logs — retained for 30 days for debugging purposes.

5 Children's privacy خصوصية الأطفال

Wasalni is designed to protect children, not collect data about them. We do not create accounts for children, we do not collect GPS data from children's devices, and we do not track children individually.

The only child-related data we hold is the name and grade level provided by a parent or school administrator during enrollment — used solely to link a parent account to the correct bus route. This information is never displayed outside of that parent's account and the school's administrative dashboard.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information about a child without appropriate parental consent, please contact us immediately at hello@wasalni.app and we will delete it promptly.

6 Security الأمان

All data transmitted between the Wasalni apps and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Access to production databases is restricted to authorized Wasalni engineers and audited.

We conduct periodic security reviews and promptly address any vulnerabilities. If you discover a security issue, please report it responsibly to hello@wasalni.app.

7 Your rights حقوقك

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — request that we delete your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Objection — object to certain processing activities

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@wasalni.app with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

8 Changes to this policy تعديلات السياسة

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active users via the app or email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Your continued use of Wasalni after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
